      Hamp Byler
      BALLINGER -- Hamp Byler, 46, of Ballinger, died Saturday evening, Dec. 20, 2003, in Marble Falls, as a result of a motorcycle accident. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003 at First United Methodist Church in Ballinger officiated by the Rev. Jon Mark Fowler and Rev. James Gibson. Interment will follow in the Old Runnels Cemetery. Arrangements are with Rains-Seale Funeral Home. Hamp was born on Feb. 12, 1957, to W.J. (Dub) and Wanda McDaniel Byler. His mother preceded him in death in 1980. He grew up loving airplanes and began his career in the crop dusting business in his teens with Mid Middleton and later with Joe Freeman. He received his commercial license at an early age and worked as a pilot all his life. He soon had his own airplane and began his own business locally and throughout the State. Recently, he had been fighting forest fires for the US Forestry Service and most recently spraying foliage in the country of Columbia for East Incorporated. Hamp is survived by: his sons, Kasey, Jett and Kennedy: his father Dub Byler and wife, Linda, of Ballinger: brothers, Will Byler and wife, Karen, of Ballinger and Wagner Byler of San Saba; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. Pallbearers will be Rick Minzenmayer, Kendall Denton, Kyle Mansel, Steve Routh, Chris Ocker and Scott Lane. In lieu of flowers, contribution can be made to the Kasey, Jett, Kennedy trust fund in care of Ballinger National Bank.
