    Notes
    • The Spencer family oral history indicates that when the Spencer family immigrated to America - George Spencer decided to stay in England. He was working for two bachelor farmers (by the name of Henry and Heaton - last names unknown). He later inheritated a portion of their property. In the 1841 England Census he is in fact living next door to someone named Henry Heaton who at that time was 65 years old.
