      Brownwood Bulletin (not dated - probably 3 Feb 1939): Mrs. T. C. Ham - Funeral arrangements have not been completed for Mrs. T. C. Ham who died this morning at 11:10 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. F. M. Puckett, 1002 Melwood Avenue. Mrs. Ham was born September 20, 1859, in Mississippi. A resident of Brown County for thirty years and a member of the Nazarene Church for twenty years. Mrs. Ham has lived a useful Christian life. Survivors are her children: Mrs. Puckett, W. N. Ham of Corpus Christi, Mrs. Ora Ward of Tyler, Robert Ham of El Paso and S. D. Ham of Brownwood; also a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Austin-Morris Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements which will probably be held some time tomorrow.

    • Notes from Debbie Thurston -
      "I found some old correspondence from "someone" who had typed up some information and mailed it to my great aunt Cenie Ballard Williams." The notes are typewritten and labeled "Mother's Mother - Tobitha Clemintine Kenady." At the bottom of this letter it states that Tobiatha Clemintine Kenady had a cousin whose name was Charles Goodnight. The famous Goodnight Trail was named after him. There is also a Goodnight ranch at Amarillo, Texas.

      Died: Feb 3, 1939 in Brownwood, Texas
      At age 83, died of gallbladder and reheumatism. She was Irish and English. Her father, Robert Kenady, came over from England. He was full-blooded English. He was accidentally shot and killed in his own backyard, when she (Tabitha) was a baby. She was brought to Johnson County, when she was young, by her mother, Jemima Clemintine Rawls (Mamie) and her step-father Mr. Thomison. She had one brother, Norman Kenady, and he had 2 girls: Allie Kenady Morgan and Claudie Kenady. (She had one half sister, Jessie Thomison Ballard of Cleburne and Alvarado, TX).
      These notes are handwritten: Aunt Clem Myars was grandmother's (Jemia Ralls) half-sister. Clementine (Duthc) Myars and Jemima Ralls was half-sisters. When Grandmother (Jemima Rawls) married Kenady, her brothers tryed to stop her. Aunt Clem lived to be 92 years old. She didn't marry. She lived wtih mother and daddy when she died. Grandmother Jemia Ralls Kenedy Thomerson had two children by Kenedy, Aunt Tabby and Uncle Norman. They were very small babys when their Daddy was killed. They moved and after a while she met grandpa Thomerson and they married. Mother (Jessie Penia) was their only child. (Jim & Jarmima Thomerson) (Mother's parents). Rob - on the back of this page, all that was written "Ora Deborah Ham Ward." I'm not good at figuring things out about the ancestors, hope you have better luck. B."

Died December 16, 1905 at age of 51 of pneumonia. He came from Jackson, Mississippi. Also when he was young, he and Tobitha both grew up0, met and married in Johnson County, around Cleburne. They had 6 children. RMH parents are buried in Grandview Cemetery in Johnson County, Texas. Highway 4 NW of Grandview, Texas. RMH parents: Joel Ham 12/25/1815; d. 4/28/1874; mother Mary Ellen Montgomery b. 8/1/1821, d. 5/7/1874. Source: Information in the Montgomery family bible.
