    • The date of death is NOT sourced by me.
      Researcher Darla Bostick indicates a death date of July 20, 1887 which comes from "Aunt Pete" Ellen Pearl Westbrook's genealogy chart (Ellen's mother was raised by grandparents and knew the family); Year of death may have been 1888 as William had a land transaction as late as December 1887.
      Researcher Kati Tevington has August 1888 as his death date.

    • Covington Cemetery - grave is located inside an iron fence with his daughter's family - the McKowns. William's headstone is a tree similar to the ones of Woodsmen of the World. He is buried next to daughter, Tabitha Ellen Box McKown and her McKown family. Headstone inscribed: "In Memory of William B Box aged 87 y 9 m & 9 days"
