Albert Lovell

CROSS PLAINS — Albert Lovell, age 84, died Friday, February 10, 2006 at the Abilene Regional Medical Center in Abilene. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 12, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Cross Plains with Ronnie White officiating; burial will follow in the Cottonwood Cemetery.

He was born February 27, 1921 in Cottonwood, Texas to Marvin Ray and Rosa Lea (Wilcoxen) Lovell. He graduated from Cross Plains High School and married Dorothy L. Fore on August 9, 1942 in Cross Plains. Albert served in the Sea Bees unit of the U.S. Navy. He worked as the county Tax Assessor for Callahan County for 26 years. He served as a deacon as well as secretary/treasurer on the Finance committee for First Baptist Church in Cross Plains where he was an active member until the last couple of years.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Lovell of Cross Plains; sons, Eric Lovell and wife Joyce of San Saba; Al Lovell and wife Phyllis of Paint Rock; Bobby Lovell and wife Gail of Clyde; a sister-in-law Lillian Lovell of Midland; grandchildren, Bryan Lovell and wife Amanda, Amber Lancaster and husband Bodye, Dana Lovell and fiancé Chris Perez, Aaron Lovell, Andrea Lovell, Ashlyn Lovell; great-granddaughters, Avery Lancaster and Faith Lovell; 2 nieces, Rose Marie Carter and Alice Lovell. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. The family will receive friends and relatives 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, February 11, 2006 at the funeral home in Cross Plains for a time of visitation.
