Alva Jackson Knight
Alva Jackson Knight was killed instantly when his car was struck by an interurban bus in Chicago, Nov. 26. He had spent the evening with his mother, Mrs. Emma Knight, who is visiting him in Chicago.
Alva was the youngest son of the late Moses Knight and Mrs. Emma Knight. He was born and reared in the Russ neighborhood. Besides his mother, he is survived by two brothers, Clyde of Chicago and Clarence of Idaho, and one sister, Mrs. Farrell Chastain of Lebanon, and several half-brothers and sisters.
The body was shipped to Lebanon and funeral services were held at the White Oak Pond church Dec. 1, with the Rev. Vemon Beckner officiating. Pallbearers were Andrew Knight, Lorraine Lindsey, Homer Renner, Leo Chastain, Leo Randolph and Lee Sanders. Burial was in the nearby cemetery under direction of the Palmer Funeral Home.
The body of Alva Knight, who was killed in an accident in Chicago, arrived Thursday in Lebanon and was taken to the Palmer Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the White Oak Pond church.
