Clint Odis Frazier
Odis Frazier, age 83 of Strawn, passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2010, at Abilene Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m, Thursday, September 23rd, at the Opal Guest Memorial Chapel in Strawn with Rev. Mike Orsini and Chaplin Chris Hale officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Marion Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, September 22nd, from 6 to 8 p.m, at Morehart Funeral Chapel, 202 Central Avenue, Strawn. Clint Odis Frazier was born on February 26, 1927 in Abilene, Texas to parents, Clint Maston Frazier and Mabel Idell Crawford Frazier. He spent his early life in the Cottonwood Community of Callahan County and graduated from Abilene High School in 1944. Odis was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II, serving aboard a mine sweeper in the Pacific. He married Betty Jo Brown on February 5, 1971 in Abilene, Texas. Odis and Betty moved to Strawn in 1973, where he owned and managed Professional Cemetery Services, Inc. from 1977 until his retirement in 1992. Following retirement Odis took up his dream job of becoming a fishing guide on Possum Kingdom Lake and, by all accounts, he was very successful in his venture. Odis was a member of the Strawn Volunteer Fire Department and the Strawn Lions Club, as well as the Strawn ISD Board of Trustees, which he served for nine years. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church. Odis was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Venetta Reeves in 1985 and his wife, Betty in 1999. Odis is survived by three sons, Joe Frazier and wife, Brenda of Hawley, Jim Frazier and wife, Sheila of Elm Valley and Carl Frazier of Strawn; one daughter, Kim Elkins and husband, Jim of Gordon; one step-daughter, Ladonna Cross and husband, Hershel of San Angelo; one step-son, Ronnie Brown and wife, Janice of Hawley; twelve grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Pallbearers will be David Frazier, Travis Frazier, Clint Frazier, Zach Brown, Ben Cross, Jake Atwood and Que Edwards. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Goin, Alton Harris, Buddy Shirley, Charles Turner, Jack Turner and Jack Witherspoon. Memorials may be made to Palo Pinto County Meals on Wheels or Tri-City EMS and may be left at Morehart Funeral Chapel.
